Google Panda Update - Earning

Recently Google announced a major algorithm update on how it ranks websites and this affected almost 12 % of the search engine results. "Panda Update" named after one of the Google's engineer was designed to get rid of low quality websites-websites with copied and low-value content that is of no use for the readers. At the same time, it aimed at providing better search engine rankings to the websites with original and informative content. With this update, it is now required to tweak your SEO strategies a bit in order to rank high is SERP. Focus on creating high-quality content for your website and you can use the Panda as an advantage.

Google has an Advanced location options which apply only to ads shown on the Google Search Network. Options include targeting users by their physical location, by search intent, or both. You can also exclude certain locations, either by physical location only, or by physical location and search intent. Search intent refers to location-specific terms in users search queries, such as san francisco bakery. Generally, the default settings are appropriate for the majority of advertisers. But in case you ship your product only to a limited geographical region, Or you are sure that customer outside a particular area is less likely to convert, you can disable the targeting using search intent. This will allow you to bring down the PPC cost although it may reduce the impressions as well.

PPC campaign for local businesses can be a bit different from the other larger businesses. For most local businesses, especially to start, I recommend using a geo-modified keyword campaign and then moving into setting up another campaign which is more of a keyword driven campaign rather than a geographically driven campaign (from a keyword standpoint). This is because starting out with a huge AdWords campaign can be overwhelming to a new user, which can lead to poor management and a poor account quality score right off the bat.

Content is king

When doing link building, think quality, not quantity. One single, good, authoritative link can do a lot more than a dozen poor quality links, which can actually hurt your website. Today, I am going to share few SEO tips that are worth implementing:

Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that focuses on your primary keyword or keyword phrase. Fresh content can help improve website rankings. Add new, useful content to your website on regular basis. Be sure links to your site and within your site use targeted keyword phrase. Use keywords and keyword phrases appropriately in text links, image ALT attributes and even the domain name. Not only should your links use keyword anchor text, but the text around the links should also be related to the targeted keywords. Make sure your site is easy to use. This can influence your link building ability and popularity and, thus, website ranking.

Google is on a constant move and doing every possible update the keep their SERP's clean and free of spam. They have framed out where the most trusted links appear on the website:

Content Section: Links present in this section are the most valuable and trusted.

Header Section: These links are also valuable, as most of the sites don't engage in selling links here.

Side Navigation: Google tends to devalue these links especially external links due to large-scale abuse by link exchange.

Comment Section: This section can pass some value but due to constant spam they are of little value now.

Footer Links: These links are basically worthless.

Try getting links from the content section of the website as these are highly valued and have great impact on search engine rankings.

Brands are given higher positioning these days. So, focus on building brand links rather than just anchor texts. If the content around the posts, articles, pages, etc. is relevant, the SEs are smart enough to know what to rank you for. It has been long since Google started treating subdomains as internal links rather than independent URLs. So, choose subdomains accordingly and include your targeted keywords while naming, which is good SEO practice. It is going to be of critical importance in the year 2012 which sites you choose for link building. It should not be with poor content and should not be thin. You have to value the sites to get backlinks from carefully.

1) For Better Title, take a look at top 3 Titles and understand their strengths and weaknesses. Check if they are providing what they are promising. Moreover, listed titles like (10 steps, 8 ways, 3 reasons, etc.) take advantage over others in SERP's. You can simply add a little to your Title to make it easier, faster, new, more comprehensive and better.

2) For Better Content, click through the first couple of results and see what they are offering and where they are lacking. And accordingly plan an ideal post for your keyword.

Try to add unique information that other results don't have. Organize your post in a better way. Get to the point right away.  Not only does the analysis you conduct insure your result will be better, you can be completely confident that your post deserves to be the first result.

Google seem to be putting more emphasis to links from the actual content body of the page than the header, side navigation or footer links. Queries that need fresh results impact around 6-10% of the search results to a noticeable degree and the business websites that have news in their content will get benefit from this. Google seems to be paying more attention to the page content than the backlinks. They also say they are de-emphasizing the "exact anchor text" backlinks. This means you should look at altering your "exact anchor text" approach if you have not already done so.

Google will tend to rank official websites even higher on Google's result page. And this change is intended to provide the users with more relevant and authoritative results.
